How active headphones cancel noise work?

Each speaker is therefore equipped with a delayed copy reverse waveform. Digital signal processing techniques are generally more efficient in terms of providing this inverted signal delay. The amount of necessary delay depends on the distance between the microphone and speaker, and each of the two channels has to be treated separately.

Headphones with noise canceling often are called headphones active because they require a separate power supply. Generally, use rechargeable battery packs.
